Sabi Saturday

Hello and welcome everyone to CRYSTAL AND DAISY MAE’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE. Daisy Mae And I are happy you are here. For those of you who don’t know what Sabi Saturday (and yes we know it’s Sunday) is here is a brief explanation that might help you. It is:

  • the vintage/antique item(s) handed down or we “rescue” from garage sales and thrift stores so they don’t end up in the trash bin.

  • items we’ve upcycled instead of throwing them away.

  • items we’ve repaired in a transformative way to make them more beautiful or cooler than before.

  • the main idea is showing how we treasure or reuse or creatively transform things that have some history to them, may be a bit worn but nevertheless are still useful/beautiful and often have character.

Now that you know what Sabi Saturday is Daisy Mae And I hope you will visit Cactus Catz for the Sabi Saturday blog hop and for more information. It’s not only fun but it might just get you more traffic on your blog. We look forward to seeing what you have in store for us. If you can’t make it on Saturdays no worries Sabi Saturday blog hop usually lasts about 5 days. For more info go to the link above and ask them.

Daisy Mae And I have for our Sabi Saturday this week an old jewelry box that the artwork on it looks well… Japanese. I know I know you’re probably thinking a jewelry box is a jewelry but in this case you would be wrong.

Sadly I don’t know much about the history of this old jewelry box because I wasn’t thought of yet. When one of my relatives(I think his name was “Uncle Ted) who was in the war(not sure which one) came home to see my Aunt Kay Dee he brought this jewelry box back to give her as a gift. She of course was thrilled to see him but also thrilled with the jewelry box. Then when she passed away her family cleaned out her house. However and for some reason, there was not one person who wanted the jewelry box. In fact, her side of the family brought us this jewelry box as well as a lot of other items they did not want. When we went through the boxes of stuff they didn’t want it was hard to believe they passed this stuff up. We came to the jewelry box and Mom asked if I would be interested in taking it. I said yes I would take it. I took this jewelry box because I needed it but because it belonged to my Aunt Kay Dee for many years and yes it is beautiful. I have a passion for jewelry and jewelry boxes so it comes in handy. Yes, I use it to keep jewelry in too.

Below is a picture of the last picture I have of my Aunt Kay Dee who I inherited this old, beautiful jewelry box from and the picture of the Jewelry box.

Sabi Saturday With Angel Snowball

For Sabi Saturday I have decided to multiple old things since I got somehow so many old things in this picture. However, the main old thing I wanted  to do was one of my cats and her name was Snowball. She’s an Angel now. In the picture like I said there are are many old things. In the picture below you’ll see on my bed Angel Snowball. You’ll also see some other old things as well. You’ll see a stuffed cat which I appropriately named “SnowPuff” on the bed with Snowball also on the bed that’s old is a bedspread Pillow and stuffed teddy bear which I named “Teddy”. Also you’ll see some other old things like my cat box, pink curtains, the white shelves, yellow doll on the shelf, Santa container, books and picture album. Picture below.

Friendly Fill – Ins, Sabi Saturday, Caturday Art & Feline Friday

Today Daisy Mae and I are putting our blog hops together in one post.  We invite you to join us and everyone else in doing these blog hops. They are fun and an easy way to get traffic to your blog and meet new people. First up is Friendly Fill – Ins with 15 And and there co – host Four-Legged Furballs .

1.) A past event that I would like to see in person is Jesus performing all his miracles. I think it would be interesting. A couple other events I would like to see is what I would like to see and ranks right up there is I would like to see Jesus being born that night in Bethlehem and be there with his disciples to see him ascend into Heaven the first time.

2.) If I were a dog, my breed would be Alaskan Malamute(Female). This breed has a great disposition. I had one once as a kid and just loved her. I love all dogs though. Although Daisy Mae says she wouldn’t want to be a dog.

3.) If I came with a warning label, it would say the following: Loud but caring and compassionate almost to a fault. Good listener. Loves most animals but despises Snakes. Also, doesn’t like rodents, insects, Spiders and etc… Daisy Mae says her warning label would say comes with a lot of cuteness, adorableness and hates to be picked up. Loves being loved.

4.) I would want to take a boat, my parents, my computer, computer charger and of course my cat Daisy Mae with me to a deserted island.

Sabi Saturday

I have something special and well sentimental at least to me and yes it’s old and could be an antique. You see when I was a kid well ?? years ago, my parents and my sisters and I found this bell. Well dad put it up and that was when he saw it, the bell had a name on it. However it was just not any name it had my name on it. Crystal. So from then on, I adopted the bell as my own. It is still standing near my back deck of the house. Below is a picture of it. It’s so old now you can barely see the name but it’s still there.

Sabi Saturday

The picture of the Eagle below is very old. This ought to tell you how old it is because I was still a kid when they got it. They always wanted a wood carving like when they found this Eagle they got it. We still have it. I just love it.

Sabi Saturday

The picture below is of an actual Bear my uncle shot many, many years ago. This is the Bear head. It was passed down to my Dad after my uncle died. He was into hunting. There is nothing fake about this Bear. I can’t tell you how old this bear is because I don’t know. But trust me, he’s old. Also, you see below the Bear head is part of an old clock. Like the Bear Head I have no idea how old the clock is either.

Sabi Saturday

Trying to figure something for this weeks Sabi Saturday was challenging. Then it hit me, I could do a combined photo of antique and old things. What I mean by this is several old and antique things in one photo.

The end table, lamp and couch are very old. Me I’m “Middle Aged” but 29+. No I’m not telling you how old I am but will just say this, if you read my birthday post last year then you got a pretty good idea already how old I am. The only thing in the picture that’s not that old is Daisy Mae who is only a kitten in this photo but is 12 going on 13. 13 not the that old for a cat but in Cat years she’s old.

Sabi Saturday

I know it’s Sunday but since I have all week I’m technically not late. I thought and thought what could I do for Sabi Saturday? I ran an idea past Cactus Catz and they liked my idea. This week, I thought I would do something I know is a classic. MY BABY BOOK. Below are the photos.

Sabi Saturday

What is Sabi Saturday? We are glad you asked. Sabi Saturday is open the whole week for sharing. What should the posts be about? To answer that question go to Sabi Saturday .By clicking here, that will tell you everything you need to know. My Sabi Saturday Pictures is of an antique desk. My photo of my families antique desk. Now I don’t know much about this antique desk because the desk is my parents and they’ve had it since before I was born.  Photo is below.
