As I told you previously about my niece going for her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy. Not only that but she has POTS DISEASE and other  health issues. What is POTS Disease I’m sure asking yourselves? POTS Disease is: Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome which means it is a condition in which a change from lying to standing causes abnormally large increase in heart rate. To Find out more about POTS Disease you can go to this search link and it is: POTS Disease (search links) .

Don’t think for an instant the University paid for this trip or any other trips the students had to take. OH no, the students paid for this trip and it wasn’t even part of their tuition. They had to pay for it separately. These are just some of the pictures we got. In the one picture the young woman is my niece.

RIVER OMELETTE

Now I don’t know about anyone else but in my opinion bacon in almost any recipe is great and you can’t go wrong. Today’s recipe comes from a wonderful site called Two Spoiled Cats . This site I just love.

Ingredients

Ten Eggs (important ingredient in an omelette!)

  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 dashes hot pepper sauce, or to taste
  • 1/2 pound bacon – cooked, and chopped into bite – size pieces
  • 1 (4 i) can black olives, drained
  • 2 roma (plum) tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/3 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 3/4 cup Colby – Monterey Jack cheese, shredded

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Coat an 8 inch square baking dish with non – stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine eggs and milk. With an electric mixer, beat until frothy. Blend in salt and hot pepper sauce. Stir in bacon, olives, tomatoes, green onions, mushrooms and cheese. Pour into prepared pan, and cover with lid or aluminum foil.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until eggs are set in the center.

Baker’s Note

If there is an ingredient you either don’t like  or want in your River Omelette DON’T PUT IT IN!! It’s that easy. As for the cheese if you prefer American, Provolone, Swiss or some other cheese instead of Colby – Monterey Jack cheese please feel free to use it. As we all know THAT the bacon is the most important ingredient then the eggs. Now maybe you’ll try it for Breakfast, another meal or even serve your mother Breakfast in bed.

MY BLOGGER FRIENDS

th

To those bloggers who use Blogger, I’m very sorry if you think I dropped you for some reason. Actually the truth is that I’m still following you and even reading your posts. The reason I can’t  comment is because Google+ is well… no more and I’m not signing up for something else. I’m still reading and following you. I may try doing it from notifications. If you have any ideas on how I can comment easily please let me know. Some of you I know have been accommodating and changed your settings to include Name/URL. For those who have done that thank you. To the others well… I get why you don’t want anonymous people but Name/URL isn’t anonymous.

Bye-Bye Google+

Hi everyone and welcome, Daisy Mae and I are glad you are here. For those who haven’t heard by now Google+ is going away completely as of April 2, 2019.

We want you to know this because this is going to cause some troubles for us. No we aren’t going away. However, those of you who require G+/Blogger only when commenting well…that’s going to be a problem. Why you ask? It’s because we won’t be able to comment on your blog anymore. We’ll continue to follow you but we won’t be able to comment. However, those of you that allow Name/Blog URL well we’ll do our best to comment. We understand why some of you don’t allow anonymous people who comment. We understand it’s because of Spammers.

We are sorry we won’t be able to comment as of April 2. We’ll be reading even if we can’t comment. I found this out not through an e-mail from Google+(which would’ve nice) but noooooooooooooooooo, I had to hear it from someone on Disqus. Glad he told me too.

We wrote this so all of you could be prepared and make any changes to your blog if you wish to do so. We’ll see you at your blog hopefully.

Best Wishes,

IPICCYtext7text

DAISY MAE’S ANSWERS

1.) One can never find out if you’ll lose one of your nine lives if a cat doesn’t explore and get stuck a few times. Thankfully I’ve been rescued every time.

2.) Given the choice of Wet oily food or Dry food, I would pick Dry food paws down.

3.) Curling up in a ball without the lights on makes me feel safe because nobody can see me because of my fur color.

4.) I never go a day without sleeping because I not only guard the whole house but also guard Queen Mom, Queen Mom Deputy Sister Crystal and King Dad. That’s a tough job.

CRYSTAL’S ANSWERS

1.) One can never reach their dream if they don’t fail a few times trying to reach it.

2.) Given the choice of Cats or Snakes, I would pick Cats hands down without hesitation.

3.) Reading the Bible makes me feel like a weight has just been lifted off my shoulders and it will be taken care of.

4.) I never go a day without praying because praying helps me in so many ways.

A TRIBUTE TO TIGGER

Tigger

A Crotchety Cougar you weren’t but

You were old enough to be a Cougar

So even though you weren’t a

Crotchety Cougar, You were Crystal’s Cougar

And I will always think of you

As Crystal’s Cougar or just

Crystal’s Tigger Kitty.

Tigger, it was a very sad day

When you went over the Rainbow Bridge.

We rescued from an environment

You should never have been in.

When we got you, you were scared

Of us and hid in my bedroom closet.

You eventually bonded with my Mother and

I but Dad was another story.

Through your time with us you

Stayed under our feet most of the time,

You snuggled on our laps, You liked napping

On laps and you liked to play pole.

Tigger, I have so many memories of you

Including the memories of you and

Sister Queen Daisy. I am so glad

You made up with Dad before

You passed over the Rainbow Bridge.

Tigger, you were very much part

Of our family and we will

Always miss you.

Tigger, we loved you so much

That you left pawprints on our hearts.

Tigger, you have become an Angel and

You are able to walk again and

You aren’t miserable or suffering any pain.

My sweet Tigger Kitty is now an angel and

You will always be missed.

That sweet adorable kitty that you

Hissed at sometimes, she misses you too.

Sadly missed by

Queen Daisy Mae And

Queen MOM Deputy Sister Crystal

Writing Reviews

Writing book reviews can be fun or it can be frustrating. Let me explain. You see writing reviews on my blog and Goodreads is easy and fun. However, if you want to write a review on Amazon you have to purchase so much on Pay Pal, Debit Card, Credit Card and etc… They have strict rules.

I bought about 100+ books for free of different reviews and have received 3 books from 2 different authors for my honest reviews. No thanks to Amazon I can’t review a book on Amazon unless I spend a minimum amount of $50.00 I think. Not Good. I’m going   to contact them again and see what happens. Right now I’m not a “happy camper”. Wish me Luck. I’ll need it.

I Won: Book Review – Part 2

WELCOME

Once again. Welcome to CRYSTAL AND DAISY MAE’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE. No we are not just a photo-blogging site but the site is about Animals, Photos, Blogging, Country Living, Family, Poetry And Much, Much More. I will be doing a book review on the book I won, SWEET BREATH of MEMORY by ARIELLA COHEN.

AUTHOR’S BOOK SYNOPSIS

With its tree-lined streets, vibrant downtown and curbside planters of spring bulbs, Amberley, Massachusetts, seems a good place for Cate Saunders to start over. It’s been two years since her husband, John, was killed in Iraq and life has been a struggle. Her new job as a caregiver doesn’t pay much, but the locals are welcoming. In fact, Cate has barely unpacked before she’s drawn–reluctantly at first—into a circle of friends.

There’s diner-owner Gaby, who nourishes her customers’ spirits as well as their bodies; feisty Beatrice, who kept the town going when its men marched off to WWII; wise-cracking MaryLou, as formidable as Fort Knox but with the same heart of gold; and, Sheila, whose Italian grocery is the soul of the place. As Amberley reveals itself to be a town shaped by war, Cate encounters another kindred spirit—a Holocaust survivor with whom she feels a deep connection. When revelations about John’s death threaten Cate’s new-found peace of mind, these sister-in-arms’ stories show her an unexpected way forward. And Cate comes to understand that although we suffer loss alone, we heal by sharing our most treasured memories.

MY HONEST REVIEW

I won this book and got it in the middle of vacation. I got the book on Monday, 7-16-2018. I took the book back with me and started reading it that afternoon. I loved the book so much I hated to put it down it was that good.

Usually when I read a book with a lot going on its just hard to follow but Ariella Cohen pulled everything together fantastically. I got this book on Monday and had it read by Wednesday. I now follow her blog and found out she has a sequel planned to the book SWEET BREATH of MEMORY. I can’t wait. There is so much I could say about this book but I’ll put it in a few words instead. The book is fantastic. I look forward to the sequel.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ariella Cohen is a graduate of Barnard College, the Hebrew University and the University of  Michigan Law School. Her short fiction appears in A Cup of Comfort for Couples, Heartscapes, and Flashshot. Although she makes her home in New England, her dream self resides in County Mayo, Ireland.

SWEET BREATH OF MEMORY(FROM GOODREADS)

SWEET BREATH of MEMORY IS “…a heartwarming story of survival, foregiveness, and moving on.” – Booklist. The novel is available in trade paperback, ebook and Large Print hardcover.

Ariella believes in the healing power of cat purrs, coffee, Vivaldi and almond cookies. During the last summer Olympics, she felt compelled to run into the garden and prove she’s still a gymnast. It wasn’t pretty. Ariella lives in New England but her dream self resides in County Mayo, Ireland. She graduated with honors from Barnard College, Colombia University, and attended the Hebrew University as a visiting scholar. Her three years in Jerusalem were magical. After graduating from the University of Michigan Law School, she somehow passed the NY & NJ bars.

WHAT IS SAID ABOUT THE BOOK

“A storyteller at the top of her game.”

                                            —Jacqelyn Mitchard,

                                            New York Times

“Filled with compassion, humor and honesty, Ariella Cohen’s Sweet Breath of Memory is a powerful story of forgiveness…Through food and friendship, a community releases its long held secrets, and Cohen provides solace for her characters and her readers.”

—Karen Brown,

“Ariella Cohen spins a tender yarn about the enduring nature of love, the importance of friendship and the eternal longing for a place to call home. Every page brims with warmth, wisdom and compassion.”

ENCOURAGEMENT

https://mcguffysreader.com/  has a project called Sparks post each week. I decided to join this project with McGuffy’s Reader to encourage others each week.  My encouragement post is called ENCOURAGEMENT.  On March 4, 2018, I was reading my morning devotions with the Lord and guess what?  The devotional reading was called Dying for Encouragement. In a nutshell, it was about a corporate accountant who committed suicide and no-one knew why. He didn’t embezzle money and that made his co-workers wonder why until a note was found and that note simply said this: In thirty years I have never had one word of encouragement. I’m fed up. My ENCOURAGEMENT quotes and reading  are: It may seem insignificant to say a word or two; but when we give encouragement, what wonders it can do!  —K. DeHaan—      My second ENCOURAGEMENT quote is: A word of encouragement can make the difference between giving up or going on. —Author Unknown—    The reading for encouragement is Deuteronomy 3:23 – 29.   So when you think your encouragement isn’t doing any good, think again. It is. When you encourage some someone make sure it is genuine encouragement(not flattery) and it will help others.

FAITH IS…

By: Crystal Stewart

Faith Is like a mustard seed

Small but willing and able

Waiting to be nurtured

to adulthood.

Faith Is dreaming big

and doing what it takes

to reach your dreams.

Faith Is taking that leap

to build your own business.

Faith Is putting your trust

in a total stranger and

hoping your situation turns

out for the good.

Faith Is trusting and

believing in the unseen.
