  1. ROFWL>>>Bogart Sam was a ‘runner’ too…the Malamute or Husky part of him just wanted to go-go-go!! I used to have a rig of him on a toe chain that ran along the laundry line outside! He wore 2 collars also. I had it all figured out!
One afternoon I put him out in backyard to run & play…oh he ran all right! Took the tow chain & the laundry line device with him….ran 2 whole blocks to a major street. I was able to catch up to Bogart Sam & a pedestrian was holding on to Bogart Sam; line & laundry device & all. The look on Bogart Sam’s face was utterly sheepish…..
I walked him home as if nothing had happened…..he never did THAT again! 🙂

  2. Your Cousin is to be commended….most Quads just let their lives slip away…..like my beloved Paul. I did my best to keep him interested in Life & make the best of things but it never quite worked. I am proud of your Cousin!! You must be very proud too Crystal 🙂

    1. I am proud of him. Sadly, he passed away and went to be with the Lord a few years ago. Now he’s jumping around and is glad he’s not in a wheelchair anymore. Sorry you couldn’t get your Paul interested. It’s like the saying goes: “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink”.

      1. I’m so sorry your Cousin passed away Crystal….at least he made a good life for himself; got beyond his wheelchair & paralysis. Paul had low self-esteem & other issues that dragged him down emotionally & spiritually. As much as I tried to help him he just sort of stagnated. And drink was another problem…he was an alcoholic…..the most beautiful man in the world but so damaged. I miss him every day…my “Beauty” ❤ ❤

  3. I’ve had cats since I was 12 years old & they have been the one true constant in my Life! And I’ve done Cat Rescue for many years too. So many cats over the eyars…so much love given & received.
I used to spoil my Niece & Nephew…..Niece is 39 now w/ an 18 yr old boy & a 13 yr old girl….I can’t travel to see them & we have drifted apart. Yes they all drive but have no time for me now. In fact I’ve not spoken to my Sister or Nephew in 6 long years. I have accepted what I cannot change….so my cat is my life….BellaDharma is a quirky kitty girl & she had had a very rough life B4 me. A few friends told me I should just ‘give her back’….my reply was “Would you have given your child/children back?” Subject is then closed! 😉

    1. Now that was a fantastic reply. I started out having dogs as pets since I was a baby then after our Female Alaskan Malamute Shandar died, we all decided it would be easier to get a cat. One came a long a pure white one she was a stray. We had her when we had Shandar. We’ve had tragedy along the way too. But in Tigger’s last days a mamma cat showed up with baby kitten which was around 4 weeks old. Guess who that kitten was? You guessed it. It was my little Daisy Mae. Even though she is so petted on Dad which is surprising because all the other pets it took a long time for them to come around. Either way she depends on all of us. I love Daisy Mae so so very much.

      1. You had a a Malamute?? Fabulous! I had a German Shepherd/Malamute/Husky boy named Bogart Sam. I had him the last year of my 1st marriage. When hubby walked out he left us both. Long story short I had to surrender Bogart Sam to Humane Society. He DID find a forever home thankfully!! I lost my marriage; the tow truck business; my husband; my dog; the house. All my life savings gone. I never did recover from all that loss…..but I DID survive! At that point I decided I’d never abandon a 4 legged again!

      2. Used to own a Shepard/Husky dog too. I’ve owned a Collie Dog too. My family owned 2 dogs with papers. That was our Collie dog, Tara and Shandar our Alaskan Malamute—both females. We always kidded Dad and still do that all the animals we had were female. He was surrounded by females. The only other males in the family I know of is my sister’s husbands. Our German Shepard/Husky was a runner. She got loose a few times and when she did we may have said some things we didn’t mean. But our dogs, cats, fish, Chameleons, Salamanders and etc… We loved all our pets.

      1. I try to put a variety of things in BellaDharma’s posts. A bit about her & a bit about me. As we have been following Falcon cams for 2+ months now we have a very good topic! People responded so well to Carson Falcon’s selfie last week he did a new one for this week’s post. LOL…
I started watching Falcon cams since 2007…my fave is Elk River Minnesota cam. They had so many tech problems I neve saw Falcons fledge (fly for 1st time!) So we have been following Great Spirit Bluff Minnesota & am in love with Carson…..he is a survivor that one!

  4. I am widowed Crystal…twice over….no husband & no boyfriend even. I gave up after my last engagement went to pieces…that man assaulted & almost killed me Sept. 2006. Haven’t been near a man since. I iwish either Paul or Kevin were still alive so I could make something special for them!

      1. I never get upset when someone mentions having a husband when they did not know,,,,no worries about that Crystal.I was about to gently ask you if you were married & /or had kidlets. I suspected you are single like me tho’. I also had 3 miscarriages. My Life has been one challenge after another. This is why my cat(s) mean so much to me as I am sure Daisy Mae does to you…..

      2. Yeah I’m single and no kids. Daisy Mae does mean a lot to me. You’ve had a rough life. Bet your glad for your cats. I spoiled my nieces and nephew. I love them but when they were little I got to give them back. My sister practically “killed” me(not really but she wasn’t happy) one Christmas when I gave my nephew a variety of ways to make music including very small cymbals. If my nephew played with them he had to be in his room with door shut when he played them. Hah Hah

      1. Husband Paul was a C3-C4 Quadriplegic (similar to Christopher Reeves). Paul got very sick & went into complete organ failure…he died April 30th, 1996. We had only 13 years together & a lot of that was spent nursing him at home or in Hospital. Paul was my soul mate……I still cry over him……
Husband Kevin & I were married for only 3 1/2 years. He had emotional problems & would disappear for weeks on end. He was misdiagnosed & did not get proper help. He was haunted by demons & Depression yet he held a job & was a wonderful husband to me when he was all right. July 13th, 2003 he was found in a downtown hotel room dead…he had taken his own Life. I am still haunted by this situation…my beloved Kevin could not even come to me for help…..
Then I got engaged 2 years later to Jon who is a Paranoid Schizophrenic…..a violent one….I’d known him since 1997 & NEVER seen that side of him. Long story short by the time I realized how sick Jon was it was almost too late. tried to get him help. He chose to drink/do drugs one night & lost his mind & attacked me. Almost choked me to death. Did time. I have forgiven him. However I am afraid to let a man anywhere near me. I am safer being a ‘crazy cat lady’, lol….

      2. A quadrapalegic. My cousin was paralyzed from the neck down from a swimming/diving accident. He was blessed by becoming a professor, getting his Bachelor degree and he even wrote a book. There was so many things he strived to do.
Forgive me for not liking this comment but knowing how you were treated well… I guess we have something in common. I’m single, no kids and only have Daisy Mae. You and BellaDharma are great people and cat.

    1. I bet it does too. Didn’t make it so I don’t really know. There is even a tip on how to make it without the mold. It would be great and refreshing anytime. Great for kids too.
