Now most of you have heard me talk of meeting a wonderful lady, author, poet and activist Maya Angelou. If you are wondering, I met her many years ago when I was at a meet and greet. You see my college professor took the class over to see her. What I thought would be another boring class turned into a very interesting class and the start of me writing poetry on and off and now I am writing a book. You will hear more about that in the post. I think the one thing I did learn from her was to go for your dreams and if you really want to do it, you will work at it until you get it.
Let me ask you all a question and please be honest with yourselves. Have you ever started a project that started out small like cleaning out a space in your garage, basement, kitchen, craft room, a writing project and etc….? I have. In fact just recently this happened to me.
Some of you may have noticed I haven’t blogged for a while. I assure all of you everything is fine(at least for now) with Queen Daisy Mae And I. I just made a post this Afternoon. Anyhow here’s why I haven’t blogged for a while. I have an author friend who I was trying to write a poem for as a gift from me and well to say the least the poem never happened but as I kept writing, I noticed it kept getting longer and longer. When I realized I had the starting of a book with someone else’s characters I stopped and emailed the author and explained what had happened. In the return email I received the biggest surprise. She gave me her blessing to keep writing. So that is what I have been doing. Writing my very first book. Until I am done I will be posting on and off. As of today, I am at 26,350 words. That’s Chapter 15. I’m more than half way to my goal. YEAH!!
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
