It is a tiny baby deer. When my sister lived on her farm, this is exactly how they look not much longer after birth. π

Are you sure it’s a baby deer because it’s past birthing time?

I am of two thoughts a small deer or a fox but it just seemed a rather big fox in that case. Perhaps a wild dog.

We didn’t think it had the right ears for a fox and it was to small for a deer. A wild dog now there is a thought.

I’m sticking with my feeling it is a fox. Deer are not usually threatened by foxes.

I can’t see it well enough to know. I’m guessing it’s the culprit killing your turkeys.
Have a fabulous day, Crystal. Scritches to Daisy Mae. β₯

it’s too bad you can’t see the tail; it appears to be a fox and if it is you may notice less turkey
in the yard. fox typically won’t take on a deer; a fawn if it’s away from the family maybe

I’ll be honest, we went from 42 turkey to 11 turkey to 7 or 8 turkey to 5 turkey. Now that you know that what do you think it is?πΊπΊ

I’m going with fox then; as they will eat turkey. I hope daisy mae stays inside, as a fox will and can hurt her. a fox will hunt solitary,
but there’s always a mate somewhere close by, maybe even the family. Enjoy the afternoon π

I was leaning toward fox too. Daisy Mae never goes outside. You enjoy the afternoon too.

To me it looks like a fawn. It has the tall, skinny legs of a fawn.
Of course I’ve never seen some of the animals you get over in USA though! xx

Don’t you think the deer would be more afraid if it was?

Either a dog or a small deer.

We didn’t think it was a deer or dog since it didn’t have the features. I’m not sure what it is.π€·π€·

At first I thought it was a fawn Crystal & then I looked closer & I think it is a fox……right size & body type…
A coyote would be bigger…β¦Have you seen the critter again?

I have a previous picture somewhere. Dad seems to think it’s not a coyote because the deer would be taking off and more afraid. We’re at a loss here my friend.
