Forever Is A Long Time

What a great post. Mandibelle16 wrote this post and it is a great read. Please Read This Post.

When I first got sick with POTS, I asked the nurse if this illness would last forever. She told me yes it would, and I felt sick to my stomach. Tears streamed down my cheeks like they never have before — I’m someone who tries to hold them in until they just spill out — and for the first time in my life the future looked like a deep, dark hole.

Forever is a heck of a long time to have something new and frightening. I couldn’t walk ten feet without feeling like someone was spinning me around on a desk chair, and I didn’t want to keep living a life like this. I felt so much regret for the moments I had a working body and didn’t appreciate them. I regretted the many mistakes I’ve made as a human being because I felt like my illness was punishment for…

Mystery Blogger Award, Most Active Blog Award And The Blue Sky Challenge Award

I have to apologize because I’m so far behind doing my tags and award posts so please forgive me. I have to thank The Shining Gem for nominating me for all 3 of these awards.

I could not find anything on the history or origin of the Mystery Blogger Award, Most Active Blog Award and the  Blue Sky Award.

My best answer is curiosity and it look like fun.

A Historical Book Report: Gingham Bride

DSCN0365

INTRODUCTION:

Hello and welcome Everyone, in my book report this week I’m going from a historical view. The book is called Gingham Bride by New York Times Best Selling Author Jillian Hart . It deals with arranged marriages and how children were treated.

WHAT DREW ME TO READ THE BOOK:

curiosity and the publisher’s synopsis. It also sounded interesting and I wanted to see what a fiction book was like on these subjects.

MY SYNOPSIS:

This book is about a good-looking young man named Ian  and a beautiful young woman named Fiona that their parents and grandparents have arranged for them to be married. It’s also about a controlling man who got married just so he could give orders and sit around the house and play poker and drink beer. If Fiona does something wrong he hits her and she can’t go to school for days. To find out how things turn out for these two you’ll have to read the book.

PUBLISHER’S SYNOPSIS:

Fiona O’Rourke doesn’t believe in love—and certainly not in a marriage arranged by her cruel father.  And even if her unexpected betrothed seems honorable and kind, can she trust his motives…or the attraction between them?

Ian McPherson came to Montana to salvage his family’s dwindling fortune, not to take a wife. But he’s instantly drawn to Fiona. He wants to protect her—even if that means pretending that they’re engaged. In a season of surprises and miracles, there’s nothing he won’t give to show Fiona his love is for always.

THE SETTING:

The book setting takes place in Montana with deep snow and a chilling cold.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THE BOOK:

That despite Fiona’s hardships at home, she had friends at school and at work(that had to be kept secret from her parents) that helped her through each day. Also, I liked the fact that this guy was willing to pretend to be engaged just to protect her from her father and from anyone else that could be engaged to her.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE ABOUT THE BOOK:

I thought there was  too much going on in the book. However, It all came together in the end which I enjoyed.

RECOMMENDATION FOR THE BOOK:

I found the book an interesting read. My recommendation would be to read the book for yourself and form your own opinion. you may have a different opinion than I do.

CONCLUSION:

If you read this book let me know what you think.  I provided a link above that has a bunch of links you may be interested in. Below is another link. For the other links click on the above link where it says Jillian Hart.

The Questions From WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) Will Be In Bold Print And  My Answers Will Be In Italics.

  1. You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next? I read the back of the books and read the interesting sounding books first.
  2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re not just loving it. Do You Quit or are you committed? Most of the time I’m committed but sometimes I have to just quit.
  3. The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads challenge. Do you try and catch up and how? If I were taking a Goodreads challenge, I would try to catch up by reading as many books as I could.
  4. The covers do. not. match.  How do you cope? Don’t worry about it.
  5. Everyone and their mother loves a book you don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings. I let my opinion be made known and hope I can still bond with my book friends.
  6. You’re reading a book and you’re about to start crying in public. How do you deal? I usually don’t read in public so problem solved.
  7. A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book? Skip the sequel? Try to find a synopsis on Good reads? I would probably re-read the book.
  8. You Do Not Want Anyone. ANYONE. Borrowing your books. How do you tell people nope when they ask? Just Say No. Family is a little bit harder to turn down.
  9. Reading ADD. You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump. Put the book down and watch tv. Take a break.
  10. There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read! How many do you actually buy? I’m unemployed so not many.
  11. After you’ve bought the books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them. It depends on my TBR books. Also, if I’m in the middle of a book, I’ll finish the book first.

I really don’t know who to tag so if your name is not below and you want to do this tag GO FOR IT!! EVERYONE HAS BEEN TAGGED!!

Thank you for tagging me WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING).

A Hunting Trophy?

My nephew got a new bow for his birthday. With plenty of practice he got a deer when he went out hunting on the first try. He was excited. Is this a hunting trophy? Not sure of your opinion but I think my nephew might think it is.

Intermediate Customization, Day 10: HTML Columns, Tables and Post Styling

bloggingu-blue-logo

Day 10 has come and gone and guess what everyone you know what that mean? You guessed it if you said I completed another course. I’m so happy to be done. It wasn’t as easy as they made it sound. Below is what we covered.

  • How to use preformatting to space text exactly as you like.
  • How to control line breaks and indentation.
  • How to create columns.
  • How to add tables.

I’m grateful to be done. Now I think it’s time for a well deserved break.

Intermediate Customization, Day 9 – HTML Basics

bloggingu-blue-logo

Today is Day 9 of my blogging course and I’m almost done. Can we say Yippee!!

Today we covered HTML Basics. If you think it sounds confusing that’s because it is. I tried doing it but not sure I understand it. Guess we’ll find out tomorrow when I have to use what I learned today. Understanding hyperlinks is not what I thought. The areas we covered were:

  • What is HTML is, and how to find yours.
  • Basic text styling with HTML.
  • Inserting links with HTML.
  • Inserting Images with HTML.

Intermediate Customization, Day 8: Widget Visibility

bloggingu-blue-logo

Today was interesting. Didn’t really understand what I was doing or what I was reading. Today I had to adjust the visibility of one of my widgets. Once I started  reading how to do it, I was so confused.

I try to understand what they want me to know on widget visibility but sometimes things can be so confusing.

Areas we covered today were:

  • How to configure widget visibility settings.
  • Ways to use widget visibility to your advantage.

Hello to all my readers on this lovely Friday leading to a wonderful weekend. I wanted to let you all know CRYSTAL’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE will be getting a makeover in the near future and soon. New theme and all my widgets will be at the bottom. The name of my new theme is Vintage Camera. Vintage Camera is a retired theme but I’m allowed to use it since I used it once before. I ask for patience during this time of the makeover.

Intermediate Customization, Day 7: Custom Text And Image Widgets

bloggingu-blue-logo

Today we went over how to create custom texts and create a custom image. The areas that were covered were:

  • Image widget basics.
  • Custom image widget inspiration.
  • How to create a custom image with PicMonkey or Canva.
  • How to use custom images in text widgets.

Why use text widgets? Image widgets can be used for just about anything; we particularly appreciate when bloggers use them to highlight social networking profiles, direct our attention to special features, or draw us into different sections of their blogs. They’re eye-catching, and encourage readers to explore.

An English Superstition And A Cat Quote All Rolled Into One And An Update

DSCN0087
DAISY MAE SHOWING OFF HER GREY AND WHITE BELLY.

Hi everyone it’s Daisy Mae again.  I had to go to the vet this week so I’m a little late with my cat quote. I don’t travel good in the vehicle and let my owners know it. I even scratched my owner when she was trying to calm me down. I know I probably should not have scratched my owner because after all, all she was doing was trying to calm me down. She forgave me.  Just to let you know I’m feeling better since the vet gave me a steroid shot and an antibiotic shot.

I’m killing two birds with one stone so to speak. I’m bringing you a cat quote that is also an English superstition. How cool is that? What’s that you say? You can’t wait to see the Cat Quote And English superstition all rolled into one. Well in that case and without further adieu below is the Cat quote/English superstition. Enjoy it and have a great weekend.

A cat sleeping with all four paws tucked under means cold weather ahead.
